PRAISE

LEVELS OF PRAISE

Hello wonderful people, I hope we are all doing well. It’s been a while since I worked on something truly enriching, and yes—I know there’s a pending piece (don’t worry, it’s coming!). Everything will be sorted out soon, and once I’m done, I promise you all a fantastic and fulfilling experience.

Today, I want to share something that deeply ministered to me—the levels of praise storm as taught by the revered man of God, Apostle Nathaniel Bassey. I was going through some particularly challenging times recently when I stumbled upon his 24/7 non-stop worship session on YouTube. I got instantly hooked. If you’re a fan of worship music and haven’t already, check out the Yeah Kenyan channel—it’s a spiritual goldmine. Now, let’s get into the heart of the matter.

During one of the worship sessions, Apostle Nathaniel emphasized the vital role of praise and worship in the life of a Christian. He broke down the concept of the “praise storm” and shared seven powerful levels that can truly transform your spiritual life. I found these so encouraging that I had to share them, especially for anyone facing tough times—or even if you’re just looking to go deeper in your walk with God. These expressions of praise will uplift you and help you connect with God on a whole new level but first what is a praise storm?

A praise storm is the act of praising God during or despite the storms of life. It’s a faith-filled response that magnifies God in the midst of adversity, and it’s deeply rooted in the practice of biblical worship. Here are the seven levels of the praise storm as shared by Apostle Nathaniel Bassey:

1. Barach:- To kneel or bow in reverence before the Lord, acknowledging Him as King. It is a posture of deep adoration, humility and thanksgiving especially for bringing you through the storm.

2. YΓ’dΓ’h:-To lift your hands in complete surrender, offering your whole self to God. It signifies consecration and total submission, recognizing that He saved you not just to survive, but to serve Him. (Psalm 28:2, Genesis 29:35)

3. Towdah:-This is thanksgiving, but with prophetic faith. It means to raise your hands and thank God not only for what He has done, but for what He is yet to do. It’s gratitude in advance—a powerful declaration of trust. (1 Thessalonians 5:18, Psalm 100:4, Philippians 4:6)

4. Tehillah:-A spontaneous song of praise that flows directly from the heart. It’s not rehearsed or planned; it’s a personal, intimate offering born out of your own testimonies and experiences with God. (Psalm 22:3, Isaiah 6:3, Hebrews 13:15)

5. Zamar:- To sing and make music to God, especially with stringed instruments. This is a joyful, musical celebration of God’s goodness—praising Him with melodies that uplift the soul. (Psalm 71:22, Psalm 150, Judges 5:3)

6. Shabach:- To shout or declare loudly. It’s a bold, triumphant praise that exalts God’s greatness with a holy roar. Sometimes, your breakthrough requires a sound—an audacious declaration of victory! (Joshua 6:5, Psalm 47:1, 1 Chronicles 16:35)

7. Halal:-The highest and most exuberant form of praise. It means to rave, to boast, to be clamorously foolish before God. This is where all dignity is laid aside and you express your love for God with unreserved joy. (Psalm 150, Revelation 19, Psalm 135, 146–149)

Each of these levels offers a unique way to connect with God, and together they form a powerful foundation for spiritual resilience and intimacy with Him. Whether you’re on the mountain or in the valley, praise is your weapon—it invites God’s presence, shifts atmospheres, and brings peace to the storm.

So wherever you find yourself today, let these levels of praise inspire you to lift your voice, your heart, and your hands to the One who is worthy; ALWAYS.

Let the storm hear your praise.

Stay blessed, stay worshipful.
