PAYING TITHE
I have always wondered, why do people pay tithe yet remain poor? it has been something that beats my mind and I must say because of that I have second thoughts sometimes if I should pay tithes or not. Not long ago, I believe my curiosity was satisfied when through a video I saw a man of God share what he knew on paying tithes and being poor.
Have you ever wondered if a person can pay tithe and be poor? The person sows seeds, gives(house, possessions) yet still remains poor?
The man of God had this to say. You can pay tithe and be poor because the bible
did not promise you prosperity by tithe. Read your bible for reference to avoid confusion. The bible says in Malachi 3:10 that if you
bring your tithes into the storehouse, I will open the windows of heaven and
pour you out a blessing (note here; blessing in this case is singular not plural). Tithing tends to empower you with opening your mind with things money cannot buy. When you pay your tithe it can empower you with ideas and if you don’t use that idea, you will be poor. It also empowers you with opportunities. If you don’t maximise opportunities, you will
remain poor because the bible says the blessings of the Lord makes you rich.
The blessings is not riches so you can be blessed and poor and the God that
gives you power to get wealth, He does not give you wealth. He gives you the
power, you now have to use the power to create the wealth so if you don’t use
the power, you are now a powerful poor man. So that power is idea, gifts and
talents, opportunities, faith, work. When you pay your tithe the power is
released by you and now you are using that power. We have a lot of powerful poor people in church and be sitting there; “prayer
is the key, prayer is the key, prayer is the master key…” it is a lie. Prayer
is not a master key, prayer is a key. There are many other keys. There are
doors that prayer cannot open but forgiveness can. There are doors prayer
cannot open but giving can open. We need to have understanding of that and
balance it up so we don’t say “I have been paying my tithe so why are things still the way they are?
This brings me to the question; there are a lot of prayerful nations like Ghana and Nigeria for instance; they are very good Christians yet how come
the majority of the population that don’t pray in China, Germany and many other developed countries but they are still prospering? What at all is wrong?
According to the man of God, he said it is important to know there is a difference between the person of Jesus and the principles of Jesus. When Jesus was alive, he was a human being; when he was preaching teaching, saying the parables, revealing the principles of the kingdom; you see, Jesus will give you peace and guarantee your eternity in heaven but it is the principles of Jesus( the principle of hard work, goal setting, time management, discipline, diligence...) All those are what we produce among us. So many people who are not born again have embraced the principles of Jesus and are prospering even though they have rejected the person (Jesus). They are going to enjoy heaven on earth without being assured of an eternal life but we the church will embrace the person of Jesus and we now reject the principles thinking that the person (Jesus) is enough and when we begin to teach principles they say we are turning church to just talk, and all that is needed is power. As if power is just to fall down and be foaming in the mouth. That was funny, isn't it? So many of these developed nations we see and talk embrace the principles of Jesus and are prospering.
This is where we know that unbelievers are thinking strategically while christians are just praying. If christians can accept Jesus and the principles of Jesus as stated above, best believe, we are going to enjoy a heaven on Earth too!
